I am pleased to announce that outside of many baseball games and practices the majority of my craziness has ended. You may have read about my trip to Cleveland for my Grandmother’s 90th and The Great American Bake Sale that I participated in last week. All went smoothly and its a relief to going back to weekdays where I have time to take the girls for a soak in the hot tub before PM Kindergarten (The girls beg, how can I refuse?) and baking a strawberry-rhubarb cobbler at 8:00 PM when we get home from baseball because I have a hankering for it.
One last thing about that bake sale I keep mentioning. It was a fantastic experience where I had the chance to meet and hang out with three other food bloggers: Amber from Blue Bonnets and Brownies, Casey from Good. Food. Stories. and Urvashee from Dessarts. Amber was the organizer of our Central New Jersey Sale and has a lovely write up about the day complete with many photos (I of course didn’t take any!), you may want to head over there and read about it.
I bought one of each item at the table and here are some of my favorites…and the kids favorites since they swiped a few items for themselves!:
Movie Theatre Cookies from Amber
Chocolate Dipped Fritos from Amber
Now, onto some other items…Cinco De Mayo, which we all celebrate for tacos, beer and margaritas and have no idea the historical significance (guess what, its not really all that historically significant).
So here are some ideas I’ve been eying for cocktail hour (I’ll be at baseball so have one for me!):
Simple Lemon Lime Margaritas from Food52
Pink Tequila Cocktail from Refinery 29
Frozen Chambord Margaritas from Souffle Bombay
Salud!

It was a wonderful day, and hey, we raised enough money to by 10,000 meals. Excellent work, my friend.
